Moosli vs Magic Spoon, Catalina Crunch & Premier Protein

Moosli (formerly Meaties) is a protein cereal made from ground beef. Here's how it stacks up against the protein cereals you've probably seen in the aisle, using each maker's own published numbers.

Protein per 1/2 cup uses each maker's own printed cup measure: Magic Spoon lists cereal as a 1 cup serving (36–38g) with 13–14g protein, so 1/2 cup = 13 ÷ 2 = 6.5g (Fruity, Frosted) and 14 ÷ 2 = 7g (Peanut Butter). Premier Protein Protein Cereal: 1 cup (42g) = 20g, so 1/2 cup = 20 ÷ 2 = 10g. Catalina Crunch and Moosli already print a 1/2 cup serving (36g and 55g), so no math needed. Per serving, Premier Protein's 1 cup (20g) is higher than Moosli's 1/2 cup (18–19g); per 1/2 cup, Moosli has the most protein of the four.

What's the difference?

Most protein cereals start with a powder: milk protein, pea protein or wheat gluten. Moosli starts with real grass-fed American beef, then sweetens it with raw honey or pure maple syrup and monk fruit. That's it. It's grain-free, too.

Serving sizes aren't the same across brands, so we line everyone up at the same scoop: 1/2 cup. At 1/2 cup, Moosli packs 18–19g of protein, more than any of the others. We also show each brand's own printed serving, so nothing's hidden: Premier Protein's full 1 cup bowl has 20g.
